Young men arrested in relation to thefts from vehicles

NEW GLASGOW – New Glasgow Regional Police have arrested two men from Pictou County in relation to thefts from vehicles in the New Glasgow area on Sunday, Sept. 23 at approximately 2:20 a.m.

New Glasgow Regional Police immediately located one individual on Brother Street and New Glasgow Regional Police K-9 Police Dog Unit located the other individual on Frederick Street. New Glasgow Regional Police K-9 Police Dog also located stolen property.

A 14 year old was charged with theft and trespass at night while the 16 year old was charged with trespass at night, failure to comply, and was also charged under the Liquor Control Act.

Both  have been released and will appear in Provincial Court in Pictou at a later date.

Const. Ken MacDonald of the New Glasgow Regional Police said that “the quick reaction from a member of the public to call police immediately proved to be instrumental in locating in the apprehension of the suspects.”
