NEW GLASGOW – Not everyone is in favour of a proposed seniors complex at the site of the former rink.
A public hearing was held in New Glasgow Council Chambers on Monday evening in regards to the development agreement of the John Brother MacDonald Stadium.
A number of residents opposing the development were present to argue against the proposed 44-unit seniors complex that is to be built by PQ Properties on the site of the stadium.
Residents argued on several front, namely, that the site would not suit the neighbourhood, it would bring too many cars to the area, and some had issues with the floor plans of the units.
More on the story will be available in next week’s edition of The Advocate.
