Man dies following vehicle/pedestrian collision

New Glasgow Regional Police have reported the man involved in Monday evening’s  vehicle/pedestrian collision on East River Road has died.

The incident occurred near McColl Street, New Glasgow, at approximately 7:10 p.m. New Glasgow Regional Police, New Glasgow Fire Department and Emergency Health Services responded to a 9-1-1 call and attended the scene of the collision involving an Ford SUV and a pedestrian that took place on East River Road, New Glasgow.

Preliminary investigation determined that the 58 year old male from New Glasgow, was travelling across East River Road near the area of McColl Street, when the driver of the Ford SUV collided with the pedestrian. The 58-year-old pedestrian was transported by EHS to Aberdeen Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

New Glasgow Regional Police, Forensic Unit and Traffic Unit continue to investigate.
