NEW GLASGOW – Police have arrested a man following a disturbance that took place in the wee morning hours on New year’s Day.
On January 1 at approximately 12:30 a.m., the New Glasgow Regional Police were called to a disturbance on Stewart Street. Upon arrival, officers identified a 20-year-old man who sustained serious injury.
As a result of investigation, New Glasgow Regional Police Major Crime Unit have arrested and charged a 23-year-old male from New Glasgow with aggravated assault.
The accused has been released from custody and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
The male victim remains in hospital with serious injuries.
New Glasgow Regional Police continue to investigate.
