Peewee AAA’s clip Bearcats, test Bulldogs

PICTOU — The Pictou County Crushers will host the Antigonish Bulldogs at noon on Saturday at the Hector Arena in Pictou in their next home game in the Mainland Peewee AAA Hockey League.

The teams will meet on Sunday in Antigonish.

Kaden Smith, Landon Steele and Levon Walst scored as the Crushers won two games last weekend, starting with a 3-2 victory over the Truro Bearcats in a league game on Saturday in Truro.

Assists were recorded by Clint MacLaughlin, Cade Moser, Keagan Dalton, Lane Sim, Wyatt Spence and Amias Crossman.

Goaltender Alex Palmer registered the win and held off a third-period charge by the Bearcats.

Smith, Dalton and Walst each tallied twice on Sunday as the Crushers defeated the East Hants Penguins 6-4 in an exhibition game played at the Pictou County Wellness Centre.

Ben Marchand collected two assists, while Martin MacArthur, MacLaughlin, Steele, Kingsley Austin, Dalton, Owen Conrad and Walst chipped in with one apiece.

Jorja Burrows got the win in goal.

Burrows was also in goal and the Crushers got goals from Smith, Steele, Sim and Dominic MacKenzie as they edged the Bearcats 4-3 last Wednesday in a league game at the Wellness Centre.

Assists came from Dalton, Conrad, Steele, MacKenzie, Cade Moser and Ben Manos.
