Jr. A Crushers search for head coach

NEW GLASGOW– The Pictou County Weeks Crushers are looking for a head coach after Doug Doull announced his resignation.

Doull said in a press release that he arrived at his decision after careful consideration and reflecting with his family.

Doull spent four seasons behind the Crushers’ bench and led the franchise to its only MHL Championship in 2015-16.

“Imperative for me as a coach is the development of our athletes into good human beings first and foremost,” he said in the release. “Moving many on to higher levels is something I’m proud of as well. Additionally, when I joined The Crushers four years ago we had another goal in mind, and that was to bring a championship to Pictou County. We accomplished that goal.

“When you coach Jr A it is crucial to surround yourself with great people. I had that in spades with (the team staff) not to mention the devoted billet-families and Wellness Centre staff. The program is in good hands and I wish them the best of luck.”

The Crushers hope to have a decision on a new coach in the coming weeks.
