PICTOU – The town’s summer infrastructure work has begun in earnest.
Crews have been working on a number of sidewalk and street projects to help restore the infrastructure into better repair.
Work on Wednesday included pouring and leveling cement for sidewalk at the corner of Church and James streets. Some gutter work along James Street has also started.
Traffic was reduced to one lane on Wednesday along West River Road to give a crew room to rip up asphalt from a sidewalk and haul it away with plans to install a concrete sidewalk.
A portion of sidewalk in front of the building that was destroyed by a recent fire on Water Street has been completed.
Patchwork was also completed on a section of front Street.
