Read By the Sea – the 20th annual literary event – began Wednesday in River John with Wordplay for children.

Today, a writers’ workshop was held at the Anglican church hall.

The AdvoCruiser’s Burke Murray and Georgia Murray, pictured in the front row sporing Advocate Community T-shirts, dropped into the workshop to check it out.

Tonight, participants can enjoy a family storytelling campfire on the Caldera patio.

On Friday, the Library Pictou County Writers group will host a meet and greet and open mic beginning at 3 p.m.

Pitch the Publisher will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Legion and the Main Stage readings will begin at 11 a.m. featuring authors Colin Campbell, Mayann Francis, Kevin Major, Allan Cooper and Elizabeth Hay.
