George Canyon is throwing his big old cowboy hat into the political ring.
The homegrown hero is the Conservative candidate for Central Nova in the 2019 election, replacing Roger MacKay who announced he was stepping away from the election just a few hours before Canyon was named as his replacement.
For Canyon, it’s been a whirlwind week, beginning with a family discussion about his running in Central Nova, to his largely attended meet and greet at the Stellarton Legion last night where he shook hands with Conservative Party faithful and, in typical Canyon style, belted out a tune. And on his birthday, no less.
