Police investigating stabbing in New Glasgow

Early this morning (September 27), at approximately 1 a.m., New Glasgow Regional Police responded to a report of a stabbing on Viola’s Way in New Glasgow.

Two victims, a 42 year-old man and 24-year old man, both from Pictou County, suffered serious injuries and were transported to Aberdeen Hospital.

The suspect and the victim(s) were known to each other and this is not considered a random act.

The suspect, a 21 year-old male has been charged with the following:

Aggravated Assault X2

Assault with a weapon X2

Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

The suspect is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in Pictou Provincial Court at a later date and time.

The matter continues to be under investigation by the New Glasgow Regional Police Major Crime Unit.
