The FIN Kids Festival Tour, presented by FIN Atlantic International Film Festival, will once again engage, entertain and inspire.

The festival wil be held in New Glasgow at Cineplex cinema on Oct. 18.

“Bringing this very special youth-oriented film festival experience to youth across the Maritime provinces has been both rewarding, and we feel incredibly valuable,” says Wayne Carter, executive director at FIN Kids.

“The program encompasses content that addresses so many key issues and ideas that are of interest to youth of all ages whilst being both enlightening and entertaining. This is the inherent value of a Film Festival and we are so proud to make it more accessible than ever before.”

The Festival Tour is also promoting the annual FIN Kids Youth Film Competition, coming in April 2020. This opportunity encourages young people to create their very own short film to share with an audience on the big screen. Past competitors have gone on to pursue careers in the film industry and to even show their work at the FIN Atlantic International Film Festival and beyond. The 2020 FIN Kids Youth Film Competition call for entries officially opens Nov. 18. For more information visit https://filmfreeway.com/FINKidsFilmCompetition.

FIN Kids began as ViewFinders, a week-long film festival for young people and their families in 2002. Since then, the FIN Kids Festival Tour has grown into an Atlantic Canada-wide youth initiative that brings the FIN experience to school groups and communities across the region, while the annual FIN Kids Film Competition provides a platform for young filmmakers – a proven launching pad for the next generation of Atlantic Canadian talent. FIN Kids is an integral part of the FIN family of events and activities, which includes the cornerstone event, the Atlantic International Film Festival taking place every September. The FIN Kids mission is the same as all the FIN programs: to present curated movies and shorts exploring vast emotional journeys that engage, entertain and invigorate Atlantic Canadians.
