The tree for Boston came down in Black Point Wednesday morning to much fanfare and a huge crowd of students and public.
The celebration included singing from local school choirs as well as an appearance from Santa Clause to help with the tree. The crowd cheered “cut it down” in anticipation of the big moment.
As the tree came loose from the stump and swayed as the crane held it upright and all the children cheered. The tree will now make its way to Halifax where an official Boston send-off will take place before the tree takes a road trip down the coast.
The tree to Boston tradition began after the help that was sent to Halifax from Boston after they heard about the Halifax explosion.
