UPDATE: Police looking for second vehicle in armed robbery

Update: The New Glasgow Regional Police continues to investigate the armed robbery that occurred at the Tara Inn on East River Road.

At approximately 5:42 a.m. on December 21, two males entered a guest room and left with an undisclosed amount of money and other property. 

No one was injured. 

Suspects immediately left the area and travelled southbound on East River Road driving a 2014 Maroon coloured Toyota Rav4, Nova Scotia licence plate GKU 563. The suspect vehicle was later located in New Glasgow by police.

Police continue to look for a second suspect vehicle described as a dark coloured, four-door sedan. 

New Glasgow Regional Police Major Crime Unit continues to investigate and has updated the descriptions of both suspects:

1. First suspect: male caucasian, approximately 30 to 35 years of age 6’1” to 6’1” tall slender build, light coloured reddish hair, poor dental hygiene, facial abrasions/ scaring.

2. Second suspect: male caucasian, approximately 30 to 35 years of age 5’8” to 5’ 10” tall, medium build, clean cut beard.

Preliminary investigation has indicated that the armed robbery is an isolated incident.
