Return of the “Red Carpet” to Glen Haven Manor

NEW GLASGOW – There will be glamour, flair and celebration when Glen Haven Manor hosts its own Oscars celebration tomorrow.

The celebration will take place in the Meadow Mist Dining Room. The brain child of Glen Haven Recreation, the “Oscars” were inaugurated in 2011, held for six consecutive years and are viewed among Glen Haven’s most cherished memories.

“Our Oscars are hallmarks of the Glen Haven Manor spirit and sense of family and community that have provided lasting memories that are forever stamped upon our hearts,” says CEO Lisa M. Smith.  “We are thrilled to be bringing back this cherished event for our residents and staff.”

The awards will be presented to residents and also recognitions given to staff with three nominees in each category. Voting has been taking place the past two weeks leading up to the event

This year’s awards and nominees are as follows:

Residents

Hosts for the Glen Haven 2020 Oscars, Lesley Anne Sobey and Henderson Paris, are sure to delight the nominees and audience with their charm and warmth. It is guaranteed there will be awe inspiring nominees and recipients, grand entrances on the red carpet, stunning fashion, chic hairstyles, beautiful high-end decor, lots of bling and plenty of comradery and team spirit.

Ms. Oscar will be recreation programmer Nicole Blackwood who will pass the envelope to the guest hosts and the Oscars to presenters Heather Shepherd, Darlene MacNeil, Pauline Marks, Darcy MacDonald, Janice Jorden, Christine MacFarlane, Miranda MacKenzie, Maureen Connors, Kim Davidson, and Evie MacMillan. Red carpet correspondents will be Elizabeth (Liz) Paris and Kim Dickson.

The awards presentations will be videotaped and live streamed throughout the building by RavenMedia while photographer Valerie Chabassol will also be on hand to capture the memorable occasion.
