NEW GLASGOW – The North Nova Gryphons has won the Northumberland Region boys’ high school curling championship.
The Gryphons foursome of skip Jack Higdon, third Cullen Park, second Ben Hingley and lead Chase Fulton combined to win the bonspiel hosted by the Pugwash Curling Club.
Play began on Tuesday and finished on Wednesday.
“Our boys played very well (Wednesday), winning both of their games and finishing with a 2-0 record,” Chris Higdon said.
Chris Higdon and NNEC school liaison Kerri Denny accompanied the team.
Three teams took part in the boys division,
including South Colchester and Strait Area.
The Gryphons will advance to the provincial championship taking place from March 27 to 29 in Chester.
