The Pictou County Wear Well Bombers will vie for the Nova Scotia Major Bantam hockey championship.
The Bombers earned fourth seed in the six-team tournament hosted this week by the Novas of Antigonish after winning their qualifying series against the ACCEL Physio Hawks of Halifax.
Logan Crosby scored on goal and assisted on Ben Wallace’s two goals and Jorja Burrows recorded the shutout at the Pictou County Wellness Centre on Saturday in the Bombers’ 3-0 victory to win their best-of-three series.
“I think everyone showed up,” Bombers head coach Jon Sim said. “Everyone brought their ‘A’ game.”
The Hawks forced the showdown by edging the Bombers 3-2 in the second game of the series on Friday at the Wellness Centre.
Cory MacGillivray and Crosby scored in the last minute of the third period to make it close.
