The Pictou County Wellness Centre an the YMCA of Pictou County have suspended services until April 3.

As per the directive from the Province of Nova Scotia, the YMCA of Pictou County Child Care operations will remain open for one day, today, March 16, however child care operations will be suspended March 17-April 3.

“We have been actively monitoring the COVID-19 situation and working closely with our key partners over the past 72 hours. This decision was not easy and although we regret making this announcement, we are confident it is in the best interest of public health and safety,” said Greg Smith, PCWC chief operating officer.

“Our charity is proactively responding to COVID-19 across all of our programs,” said YMCA of Pictou County’s executive director, Tammy Goodwin. “The health of our staff, volunteers, participants and the broader community is our priority. All payments and credits will be deferred to the future when we reopen.”
