Tributes are pouring in for Barry Randle who passed away suddenly yesterday.
Randle was a leader, entrepreneur and leader of the Green Party in Central Nova as well as the owner of the Stone Soup in Pictou with his wife, Camille Davidson.
He was also a member of the PiCCoLA family teaching adult education..
Born in England, Randle moved to St. Catharines, Ont., in 1982 when he was 12 years old. He became a Canadian citizen four years later. He moved to Pictou County from BC.
Central Nova MP Sean Fraser referred to Randle as his friend. He posted: “Barry didn’t just show up for official events when the cameras were on, he would send thoughtful critiques to my office on issues relating to the environment and climate change, indigenous rights, and poverty reduction. On several occasions, I joined him at the cafe for a more in-depth chat about these issues to have real and meaningful conversations that have made me a better Member of Parliament for the communities I serve. Thank you Barry for pushing me to be a better and more progressive representative.”
