A local woman has been charged with arson, among other crimes, from a fire that took place in September.
New Glasgow Regional Police have charged a 32-year-old woman with the crime after a lengthy investigation into a suspicious fire on MacDonald Street in late summer.
The accused was charged with arson, mischief and uttering threats and will appear in Provincial Court in Pictou on March 1.
The suspicious fire took place on September 10, 2020 at approximately 11:10 p.m., where New Glasgow Fire Department and New Glasgow Regional Police responded to a 9-1-1 call about a house fire.
The house had three apartments, one on the bottom floor and two on the upper floor. Only the upper two apartments were occupied at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.
