A Pictou County woman has been appointed to the Round Table on the Environment and Sustainable Prosperity.
Maxine MacLean of Island East River is among the 12 members appointed Wednesday by Environment and Climate Change Minister Keith Irving. The round table advises the minister of environment and climate change and the premier on protecting our environment, and how it links to strengthening our economy and supporting our social goals.
MacLean has been employed with the Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture for six years. She has been involved in policy development for the agriculture industry in Nova Scotia. She has board experience – both voluntary and as part of her role with the federation, under the Halifax Food Policy Alliance Steering Committee.
In a press release Irving said, “This round table has great experience and diverse perspectives that will inform the important and complex decisions as we tackle the important issues facing Nova Scotia.
