Boston bound

The tree for Boston came down in Black Point Wednesday morning to much fanfare and a huge crowd of students and public. The celebration included singing from local school choirs as well as an appearance from Santa Clause to help with the tree. The crowd cheered “cut it down” in anticipation of the big moment....

To Boston, with love, from Pictou County

Pictou County is home to this year’s annual Tree for Boston, a gift to the city of Boston to thank them for their efforts following the Halifax Explosion in 1917.  The 60-year-old, 45-foot white spruce, donated by Desmond Waithe and Corina Saunders of Black Point will soon be making its 1,100 kilometre trek to Boston....
